This sweet and spicy soy sauce is flavoured with sugar extracted from locally harvested sugar beet, sesame seeds and madamme Jeanette peppers. With Tomasu signature soy sauce as a base, the pepper's sharpness is softened, allowing the flavour of the pepper to be better captured and appreciated. The story Tomasu Soy Sauce is the only micro-brewed soy sauce in Europe and is brewed in Rotterdam. Respecting centuries-old traditions, the soy sauce is given at least 24 months to come to taste in 25-50 year-old whisky barrels from Scotland. Driven by the vision that genuine quality can only be achieved by total control over the entire chain, Tomasu Soy Sauce has managed to grow its own soybeans and wheat in the Hoeksche Waard region. These ingredients are combined with spring water and the world-renowned coarse Celtic sea salt from Guerande, France. Fermentation is then started using Tomasu s own fungus, the Aspergillus oryzae Tomasu. The only ingredient added next is time. The decades-old whisky barrels serve as a time capsule in which the soy sauce is given time to develop. The result? A super tasty soy sauce with a rich and unique flavour that will surprise.
