How do you maintain powder-coated material?
Powder coating is a coating technique often used for products made of metal, such as steel or aluminium. As the Bended Lounger or Bended Table.
Powder coating is an electrostatic painting process in which powder is sprayed onto the metal. It then goes into the oven, where the heat liquefies the powder. Finally, it is cured into a beautiful and durable coating. The coating protects the product from weather influences and makes it last longer.
Maintenance and cleaning
Powder-coated steel or aluminium requires little maintenance. If the product is outside, it is important to clean it regularly. Use lukewarm water and a mild soap solution to clean the surface. Do not use caustic detergent. After cleaning, wet it with water and then dry it. If bird droppings get on the product, remove them immediately. This may damage the product.
Preventing scratches
Small scratches are unfortunately inevitable, but large ones can be prevented. Make sure no sharp objects or rough edges slide across the product. It is not possible to touch up a small damage on powder-coated material, as you will always see the repair line.
How do you maintain fibre optics?
Glass fibre is a reinforced plastic. It is lightweight yet very strong and durable. The Weltevree Dutchtubs are made of this material.
Maintenance and cleaning
Fibreglass should be cleaned properly to make the product last longer. We recommend draining the Dutchtub well after each use and cleaning it thoroughly. Clean it with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. The material can withstand salts dissolved in water, soap, hydrogen peroxide and small amount of chlorine. Chlorine is not our preference.
Preventing scratches
Small scratches are unfortunately inevitable, but large ones can be prevented. Make sure no sharp objects or rough edges slide across the product. Light scratches on the Dutchtub can often be repaired with the right products and experience. Larger holes or damage we recommend you have it repaired by a professional. Feel free to contact us, we will be happy to help!
How do you maintain Corten steel?
Corten steel is a type of steel that provides a thick layer of rust, allowing the material to protect itself from all weather conditions.
Products made of Corten steel are supplied without a layer of rust. After a few months, a layer of rust will develop. Depending on the environment. No pre-treatment is needed and the product is immediately ready for use. The Outdoor oven is made of Corten steel.
Cleaning and maintenance
To prolong its life, it is important to clean it at least once a year with a sturdy brush. Remove leaves and dirt from the Corten steel, as this can damage the rust layer. Also make sure to place it in a place where it can dry quickly after a heavy rain.
Accelerate rust process
The rusting process of Corten steel depends on the climate you live in. In a wet climate, a rust layer will develop faster than in a dry climate. If you want to speed up the process, you can spray the steel with a mixture of water, salt and vinegar. In between, make sure it has time to dry completely.
How do you maintain Larch and Douglas wood?
Larch wood comes from the Larch and Douglas wood comes from the Douglas Spruce from north-western Europe. Both wood species are known for their durable wood and are ideal for use in outdoor furniture. Even without treatment, the wood remains beautiful for 10 to 15 years.
The wood needs no treatment with chemicals.
The yellow-orange colour of the wood and many wood lines give the Larch Douglas fir a nice warm appearance.
Over time, it takes on a graceful grey-blue colour.
Maintenance
We recommend an oil treatment twice a year. Over time, Larch and Douglas wood furniture can be refreshed by lightly sanding the outer layer and oiling or staining the product. This also helps prevent mould. Should mould still develop, treat the wood with vinegar first. Should that not work use stronger anti-fungal agent.

How do you maintain Accoya wood?
Accoya is different from other types of wood. It is durable, soft to the touch, but at the same time very strong. This is due to a special treatment, namely acetylation. This ensures that the wood lasts 50 years above ground and 25 years in soil or water.
Acetylation is a wood modification used for more than 80 years on fast-growing softwood. The wood then becomes harder and also absorbs moisture less quickly.
Maintenance and cleaning
Accoya wood requires little maintenance. Do clean the wood twice a year to keep it beautiful and strong. Clean stains on the wood with a damp cloth. Do this as soon as possible to prevent the stain from soaking into the wood. Therefore, use coasters and placemats to avoid food and drink stains.
Maintain the Accoya to spray white vinegar on the wood. Leave it on for about three days and then clean with water and a soft brush or sponge.

How to maintain bamboo?
Bamboo is very durable. Bamboo is not real wood, but consists of pressed bamboo fibres. The giant bamboo is cut into long strips and boiled in water. Then the strips are glued together.
Bamboo is durable because it grows extremely fast and it is very sturdy. It grows 5 to 91 centimetres a day and is the fastest-growing plant. Because of its sturdiness, the material has a long lifespan. To extend its lifespan, bamboo is oiled with special exterior oil.
Maintenance
Bamboo requires little maintenance, but to prolong its life, we recommend cleaning it once or twice a year and treating it with a wood oil once a year.
Clean the bamboo by wetting it with a cloth, apply green soap to the surface, then scrub it with a hard brush in the grain direction of the bamboo, lather the surface and do this until the surface is clean. Then rinse it until the soap is gone.
After cleaning, treat with the appropriate oil. Make sure the table is completely dry. The Weltevree Bamboo furniture is treated with two different oils. For this, 80% Woca Exterior Oil Natural mixed with 20% Woca Exterior Oil White. This allows you to achieve the same effect again.
