What are crepes?
Crêpes are thin, French pancakes traditionally made from a batter of flour, eggs, milk, butter and a pinch of salt.
They have a soft, flexible texture and are often cooked thinner than regular pancakes.
Crepes can be prepared both sweet and savoury and are very versatile.
Crepes are popular in France, especially on holidays such as La Chandeleur (2 February), where baking and eating crepes is a tradition. They are often baked in a special crepe pan or on a crepe plate for even cooking.
