Bake the crispiest pizzas with crispy base yourself on the pizza stone
Ideal for use on the VUUR LAB. BBQ Outdoor cooking stove, barbecue / Kamado.
Using pizza stone
Before first use, the pizza stone should be baked at the highest temperature for an hour.
When making a pizza, preheat the stone in the oven for 15-20 minutes, making the pizza crispier.
Do not use frozen, chilled pizza, as the stone may crack due to a sudden change in temperature.
No flour on the stone.
Do not use in the microwave.
Cleaning pizza stone
Avoid cleaning with water, instead scrape a metal spatula off the dough from the stone.
- The pizza stone cannot be washed in a dishwasher!
Using pizza stone on barbecue
Place the pizza stone on an elevation on the grid to get it closer to the lid of the BBQ.
This is because the top of the pizza is cooked via reflected heat from the lid.
Also, do not place the coals in the barbecue right under the pizza stone but at the edges, to avoid the bottom of the pizza cooking much faster than the top
Do not place the pizza on the flour-sprinkled pizza stone until the kamado/barbecue is around 300 degrees.
