Chicken thigh satay with soy sauce is a delicious outdoor cooking dish. Chicken thigh meat is a juicy variation of chicken breast and does not dry out quickly during grilling, so it is perfect as a satay! The soy sauce adds an extra flavour, making it a tasty BBQ combination. However, the dish is not just made, for the real flavour magic start preparing the chicken a few days earlier! Curious? What do you need for this chicken thigh satay with soy sauce

For four people:

BBQ Outdoor cooking stove VUUR LAB. (We cooked with the XL this time)
Briquettes, coals and kindling woks
Meat skewers
A bowl for marinating the chicken thigh fillet
A knife
Chicken thigh for four
Oil
Ketjap
Onion
Garlic
Fresh pepper
Fennel
Flat parsley
Sunflower oil
Olive oil
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Palm sugar
Lime juice
Chicken maggie cube

Preparation

Note that you start one or two days in advance!

Start one or two days in advance and dice the chicken thigh to make nice satay.
Make a marinade with soy sauce, cumin powder, fresh shreds of a red onion, some garlic and a crumbled chicken maggie cube.
Place the chicken in the marinade overnight or two in the fridge.
On the day, start by putting the briquette grid in place in the BBQ outdoor cooking stove.
Fill the BBQ starter with coals, briquettes and kindling and wait about 20 minutes until it is ready to start the BBQ.
Empty the BBQ starter onto the briquette grate.
Place the grill grid in the BBQ outdoor cooking stove.
Remove the meat from the fridge and start Slow grilling the satay sticks.
Remove the grill and grill the satay over direct heat for a nice colour.
Prepare the soy sauce by chopping an onion, garlic and peppers.
Pour some oil into a pan and fry briefly.
Add the pieces of onion, garlic and peppers to the pan and deglaze with soy sauce and palm sugar.
Let it simmer for a while and the soy sauce is ready!
