A tasty orange griddle

Welcome to the recipes page of the VUUR LAB.
We are always looking for tasty recipes and this time we opted for a 'healthier' side dish. The Sweet Potato Fries went down very well! Curious about the whole preparation? Read on quickly.

Choose from a variety of herbs and oils

You can get Sweet Potato Fries already cut in the supermarket, or you can choose to cut it yourself. This time, we chose to cut the Sweet Potato Fries ourselves and left the fries a bit thicker. We switched from the griddle in the BBQ, to the griddle over an open fire. Putting the fries on the griddle gives them a crispy texture and delicious flavour. For flavour, also experiment with different spices and oils. We used Betis olive oil this time, but of course you can also use olive oil with black truffle or garlic try!

Do you also have a tasty recipe? And would you like to share it with us?
Send us a email and we put it online.

What do you need for these crispy Sweet Potato Fries?

2 large Sweet Potatoes
Salt and pepper
Herbs
Cutting board
A Knife
Kindling
A tasty sauce!

Preparation

Place the griddle in the BBQ outdoor cooking stove.
Fill the BBQ with kindling and start a fire using the kindling wicks and matches.
In between, prepare the Sweet Potato Fries. Peel the Sweet Potatoes and cut them into frieze-shaped pieces.
Keep an eye on the BBQ fire and spread some olive oil on the griddle in advance.
Sprinkle some salt, pepper and any herbs over the Sweet Potato Fries.
Spread the Sweet Potato Fries evenly on the baking tray.
Let the fries grill for about 15-20 minutes, or until they look crispy. Turn them occasionally with the BBQ tongs too. (In the case of thicker-cut fries, we chose to move it to an open fire).
Prepare a tasty sauce and remove the crispy Sweet Potato Fries from the griddle with the BBQ tongs.
Enjoy a delicious and healthy side dish!
