Sign yourself up for a Rugged Coat Felting Workshop at the Fire LAB!

Discover the oldest way to make textiles
From a freshly shorn sheepskin, we felt a beautiful rough & tough rug measuring +/- 1.20 x 80 cm in one day.
Felting requires physical strength as we use wool, water and soap to make multiple layers of wool into one.
The coats come from Drentse heath sheep with beautiful locks.
The felting itself is a mindful process and always succeeds.
If you don't shy away from a bit of effort, this is a really fun workshop, where you will go home with your own made rug.

What are we going to do?
We will start at 10:00 am with coffee/tea and delicious cake at the Fire LAB.
Then we will start the first round of felting. After this felting session, we will be ready for a healthy tasty lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue felting and then the coat is finished and everyone can go home satisfied with their own coat.
This one could use a wash then.
And in the meantime, we also enjoy the rural surroundings offered by the venue.
Annemieke from MOOI MIEK will guide you through the whole felting process with a lot of experience.

Tips: 
Dress for the outdoors!
You will be working with a lot of water, so wear clothes/shoes that can withstand it.
Bring a bucket or barrel/dirt bag, as you will get your Rough Coat wet to take home.
This one dried after about 1 day and look at the result....

Contribution:
The Workshop is €135.00 per person.
This includes all materials, coffee/tea/juice/cake and a well catered lunch.
(We use organic products as much as possible).
